Nat Mann, MD

Program Director

Originally from Virginia, Dr Mann has spent much of his life playing in the southern Appalachians.  He completed medical school at the Medical College of Virginia, then did residency training at the University of Cincinnati.  Following a two year wilderness medicine fellowship through the Massachusetts General Hospital, he returned to the South and settled in the Upstate. He has practiced medicine on six continents, and currently serves with the USFS, and on the local special rescue and dive teams.  Outside of work, you'll likely find him riding single track or developing a climbing route.

    Mark Pittman, MD

    Faculty

    Dr. Pittman is a graduate of Furman University and the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed residency at the MedStar Georgetown / Washington Hospital Center Emergency Medicine Residency, where he also served as chief resident. He completed the ACEP Teaching Fellowship and is a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine.  His research is focused on the psychological constructs underlying both education and resilience, the use of AI in medical education, and social determinants of health. Dr Pittman's outdoor interests include hiking and orienteering.

    Stefanie Musick, DO

    Faculty

    Dr Musick is originally from Texas and attended medical school at Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine.  She completed her residency right here at Prisma Health Upstate and a wilderness medicine fellowship at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.  After two years of working at community and critical access hospitals in North Carolina she returned to Greenville to work with the fellowship and pursue her love of teaching.  She enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including climbing, hiking, backpacking, and diving.

      Jen Kruizenga

      Program Coordinator

      Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jen relocated to Greenville, South Carolina in 2022.  She has been married for 30 years and has two daughters.  Jen's professional background includes extensive experience in occupational therapy, education, and healthcare operations.  She is dedicated to advancing patient-centered care and supporting clinical excellence through her work.
