Working at Oconee Memorial Hospital

The fellow's primary clinical responsibility will be within the emergency department at Oconee Memorial Hospital in Seneca, South Carolina where they work as attending physicians. Just down the road from Clemson University, this is a busy, but well-staffed and very efficient department, with an excellent culture. OMH is a great place for new graduates to gain their footing.

The Upstate Market​

​Prisma Health is the largest medical provider in South Carolina, and the Upstate market comprises 7 hospitals.  The fellow's primary clinical duties are at Oconee Memorial Hospital, but they are eligible for additional clinical activities at any of the sites, including the tertiary care facility, Greenville Memorial Hospital.

​

The department of emergency medicine also hosts three other fellowship training programs, with opportunities to collaborate with research and clinical endeavors. Other fellows within the department include ultrasound, clinical education, and sports medicine.  The department supports programs and divisions in global health, toxicology, ultrasound, EMS, research, community outreach, medical education, and PEM. 

​

Prisma Health is also the primary clinical site for students from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville (USCSOMG).  The medical school is on campus with Greenville Memorial Hospital, along with the Clemson School of Nursing.
